Andreas Vgenopoulos (10 December 1953 − 5 November 2016) was the chairman of Marfin Investment Group and was a larger shareholder of Panathinaikos FC. Vgenopoulos resigned from Panathinaikos in June 2010 citing differences with Giannis Vardinogiannis.[1] His departure disappointed representation fans of Panathinaikos.[2][3] Vgenopoulos owned 1% of Marfin Popular Fringe and 1,5% of the Marfin Investment Group. He had along with been a Greek champion of Panathinaikos' Fencing department.[4] He stick to considered as one of the criminals who created the monetary crisis in Cyprus in 2012 causing enormous issues and concluding closure of Marfin Laiki Bank.
